trip odometer

about half a year ago i got gas..got in the car and pushed the reset button for the odometer..its a 1997 totoya corolla CE...and i was actually going out of town that day and when i got like 20 miles away i looked down and noticed my trip odometer wasnt moving...it still read 0000miles... it slmost seems like it wasnt to move but it doesnt..what could be wrong..everything else works

Did you try to reset it while you were moving/driving? If it has the old manual odometer in it then you probably broke a couple teeth or you caught it between to teeth. Try resetting it again.

If its got those plastic gears/teeth and you stripped it then you will have to buy a new speedo head. The problem is that its plastic so it may be broken internally or the reset buttom could be snapped off.
