WARNING: 4A-FE / 7A-FE unstable oil pressure

this isn't a question its an observation,

Recently i got a oil pressure guage and i have found anything under half the fill line on the dipstick will cause drop-offs of pressure to almost nothing during regular driving. IE lane changes, Turns, bumps or hills.

Under the low mark and your in serious trouble the oil pressure doesn't even stay constant while driving in a straight line DO NOT let it fall this low or your guarentee'd to damage your engine

Now my old engine upon removal and inspection found cavitation damage too all the bearing surfaces, this damage was most likely caused by just this not keeping my oil hungry engine full.

totally filled up to the fill line and i haven't yet seen any problems pressure stays high and constant 75psi@3000 rpm

Just a warning to others out there with the 4A-FE / 7A-FE

That's the same with the 4AGEs, the oil pressure on the GTS always goes VERY LOW when there's less than half on the dipstick,

I've seen it go so low a few times that it worries me, so I add half a liter of oil and it seems to get better.

That's the old adage for Toyota engines...keep em full of oil and they last forever
