2nd Generation 1986 Corolla..

So yeah I just picked up one of these bad boys today for $500. Its in great shape. Oh, by the way its 4-door automatic (40mpg woot). Does anybody here have anybody have anything done to their 86 4-door? Like where I can find what it will take to swap a 4-AGE into it, which kind of 4-AGE to get.. blah blah blah.

motor mounts are for 4a engines. as long as you stay 4a engine (4ac, 4af/4afe, 4age, 4agze, 4age 20v). tranny out of a fwd with a 4a engine should work great.

Cool thanks you guys, so I think the engine in it now is the very strong (sarcasm) 4-ALC or something of that nature.. but I was wanting to convert to a 5-speed. Would a 4-AGE silvertop w. 5 speed tranny work as a good (little to no fabbing) swap candidate?

And

[quote=sportrally88]it is an ae82 ..... so its the same as the ae92 [quote]

AE92? There are pics of my exact car in the AE86 section, its an 86 but i dont understand the whole AE82,86,92 thing.. So if I was going to get body panels or kits or anything i'd be looking for AE86 or AE92?

no, that it not an ae86

ae86 = 2 door coupe or hatch.

The sedan lights were similar to the levin.

The ae86 is also 4age powered and is rwd. Yours I would think would have a 4ac, unless swapped out at some point by a previous owner. doubt there is much of an aftermarket for them, since in those years people don't want the fwd corolla's. You could fab up skirts and lips from other cars by modding them.
