Depends which 16v it is,they range from 113hp to about 130hp for na and 145 hp for the supercharged gze.The early 20v are rated at 145hp and the later blacktops are rated at 165hp.Keep in mind the 20v rated power is obtained with jdm ecus tuned for the 100 octane fuel there.It's common knowledge they are over rated for power,rev great and sound awesome but the gze will outrun a 20v and respond much better to mods.Add a pulley to a gze and a couple supporting mods and your sneaking up quick on 200hp,you'll need a few thousand invested into a 20v na to get near the peak power but you'll still lose out on mid range power to the gze.
I've supercharged a 20v using gze pistons and the gze's charger,its not running perfectly yet but it works pretty nice.Throttle response is crazy and will rev to 8k no problem(I expect that I could run it to 8500 once all the standalone tuning is done),the horrid intake set-up on the gze falls on its face before 7k.

What do you want to know?

A basic guide to power is

bigport = ~115hp
smallport = ~130hp
Silvertop = ~140hp
Blacktop = ~145hp

Thats probably pretty close to the actually power these engines make.

$800 for the engine alone??? You can get Silvertops in the Toronto area for about $300-400 CDN, do the conversion and yeah.. $800 is basically a ripoff. Find another place that will sell them for cheaper dude.

By the way, 100 octane in Japan = 91 octane in North america.. different Octane ratings dude.

isn't it supposed to be:

bigport = ~115hp
smallport = ~130hp
Silvertop = ~160hp
Blacktop = ~165hp

since the ratings you gave the bigport and smallport are flywheel hp?

Yea but from the dyno plots I've seen (after a dyno day) those numbers seem to be about right. Just my experence.

But to be honest your kidding yourself if you think a standard silvertop will ever make 160hp. Same goes for blacktops.

what are you going to use it for daily car + time attack or daily only or track only.

ok if you just want a daily ill go with a 20V silver top maybe open up the ITBs for better flow and mix. not bad for track use.problem you got no lowend trq

fully track ill go with a 4AGZE from an AE101 a little bolt ons and you got a good motor to race. you got low to mid trq

i don't what kinda of dyno they use but the bigport makes around 90 whp and smallport barely makes 100 whp, and that's STOCK. the standard STOCK 20V ST is around 125 whp and blacktop goes to 135 whp. again, different dynos show different graphs.

if you want to daily drive go with a stock ST, not a MAP converted like suggested above coz it'll coz you almost the same amount when swapping a BT. you'll need either a BT ECU (w/ MAP sensor) + piggyback system + proper tuning cost or a full standalone ECU + proper tuning cost = NOT CHEAP.

i call BS. i've tested both 20V MAP with open ITBs and a stock one and the response is almost the same. the sound is better but in reality it's not. we actually found out that the AFM equipped is more efficient that's why a buddy of mine went back with a stock set-up. and that's why i sold my MAP conversion kit. not worth it for me.

my stock smallport (with exhaust work, 4afe ecu/map based, and failing MSD ignition and a broken dizzy cap the next day) dyno'd 109.6whp at a place that around that time was dyno'ing like 2-3% lower than the surrounding dyno's....

a friend of mine dyno'd his mr2 (late 89) with 100% STOCK engine on a mustang dyno (where other aw11's were barely breaking 100whp... even the stock gze dyno'd like 120 something at the wheels) ran 106whp

a silvertop on all stock electronics in an aw11 (at the same place i had mine done) dyno'd 120whp

that was my smallport in the ae92 running on a crappy electronics setup (modified 4afe ecu using stock smallport injectors and a bad o2)
