My 05 XRS did 0-60 in 7 seconds stock, no idea how fast it is now. Sorry it doesn't answer your question....

I have a 2002 with 120hp automatic, its not worth flooring unless its an emergency The accelleration is acceptable under half throttle, WOT is just make a bunch of noise and its not much quicker. The 2000-2 5 speeds that I test drove were the same way.
Ok, you guys may not believe me, but I have a G-Tech. The G-Tech measured me at 0 to 60 mph in my '04 at 7.59 seconds, or maybe it was 7.69. I can't remember which of the 2 it was.
I can drive a 5 speed just fine. I set the G-Tech up perfectly to the instructions. My launch was chirping the tires slightly, and I only had to shift 1 time. It hit 60 mph in 2nd gear.
If the G-Tech is not accurate, OK. But I still think my Corolla can hit 60 in less than 8 seconds. And mine is not the XRS.

G-Techs are famous for being inaccurate. They are almost always off as much as half a second.
I assume it is about 1ZZ Corolla 5 speed, which stock best does a 0-60 in 8 secs flat and quartermile in 16.5 secs.
2ZZ Corolla XRS 6 speed stock has a 0-60: 7 secs and 1/4 mile: 15.3.
For the original question, Camry SE V6 with auto transmission (192 HP)
I don't know where you get 8 seconds flat ... sounds like some magazine testing. Anyway, I'm a *bit* lighter than most of the men they have testing the cars. Plus, I KNOW how to drive a stick ... I bet most men don't. I've been driving them since I was 15 years old. My dad taught me right ... and I've loved them ever since.
I stick to my reply. I can get to 60 in under 8 seconds.
PS - My LE looks like your XRS (I have the same wheels, spoiler, fog lights, & color), except I don't have those cheesie "ground effects." The front looks decent, the side ones are just OK, but the rear ones in my opinion look like crap the way they end and leave a space in between them in the rear and the angle up just past the rear tires.

No you didn't I've driven a 1zz and it was hideously slow, closer to 9 seconds 0-60 if that.
The ground effects are very tasteful, make the corolla look less like shit and more like an attractive little sedan. The ground effects make the car, not the spoiler and wheels those are more for ricers who think that rear spoilers somehow affect FWD car's performance....

Well from my experience when i raced my friends 2003 Sentra SE-R with I/H/C and Unorthodox Racing Pulley, and motor mount Inserts and considering that i am an Auto and he is 6-Speed, I kept up with him in the first two gears and then he smoked me the rest of them. The Corolla screeched off the line, he was suprised, lol
Specifically, 4th or 5th generation, 4 cyl only, and 5 spd only
I have 4th gen. 2.2L 5spd and it's nice but so slow, I wonder if a Rola of 2000-2003 is any faster.
Sorry I never answered your original question....the 1zz corolla is pretty slow, even supercharged it'll run mid 15 second quartermile with a manual. Hope that helps.

How about a 93 4afe 5 speed? It's no where near fast, but surprisingly peppy when the revs are up. Im guessing 8.5 seconds 0-60, low 16's in the 1/4.
Your really think these car will run 16's? I would have guessed 17's, (like a lot of the Civics I see at the track.) I have owned some stock cars that run 16's at the track (85 Toyota Supra, 86 Honda Prelude) and been in freind car, all of them felt noticable faster than my Corolla.

It's guys like you that justify lesbianism. "The ground effects are very tastefull" is just an opinion. I think the cheesie "ground effects" amp the ricer effect, making ricer boys like you think they are driving a super car. Anyway, I hope they put enough super-glue on yours so they don't blow off!
And, first you say around 8 seconds. Now its closer to 9 seconds. Maybe so with an automatic. With a properly installed G-Tech, its not going to be too far off. As I said in my first post, accurate? Maybe not. But not that far off. It doesn't matter your opinion, I still say I can beat 8 seconds.
If a driver can launch a manual transmission hard enough, a car with decent power, low weight & plenty of room on the tachometer can get to 60 pretty quick (I only needed to shift once). In 3rd and 4th gear, this car won't do too much. On the other hand, my brother towed my '93 RX-7 twin turbo 5 speed to the dragstrip. And for the life of me, I could not control the clutch nearly as well as my Corolla. Go figure. But it did run 13.2X in the 1/4 mile (not stock). Of course you'll probably say ... no you didn't.

The intake made it sound like its doing something.. lol
I did a 0-60 with the good ole "1 potato, 2 potato.."...got up to 9 potatos before hitting 60 That was taking it a little over my nornal shift points, tach isnt installed yet and I dont think the Corolla has the automatic "slip' in 1st-3rd like my Celica does (if you redline, the clutch releases so you don't blow the engine).
93 Corolla 5 spd, 4AFE, 197k new clutch, rebuilt tranny, fresh tuneup, 14" P195/65/14 Vipers (look like Bridgestone Potenzas).
90 Celica ST, 5 spd, 4AFE, in pieces, have a 97 7AFE waiting to 'drop in'
