93 Corolla Rear Metal Brake Lines

One of the metal brake lines running from the front to the rear of the car has rusted thru. The one next to it looks like it's next.

Has anyone had DIY experience replacing these? Are the generic straight lines difficult to bend into place? or are the pre-bent lines the best way to go?

Where can you get pre-bent lines besides from the dealer? I can't find them anywhere online. Alot of places carry brake "lines", but they're the flexible hoses, not the metal lines.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question

good question.

i have the same problem. all 5 lines are rusted. one went out and had to have a "patch piece" put on it. my mechanic said they dont make whole brake line replacements...

i asked others, they said they do.

so whos right?. i want pre bent whole piece bolt on replacements for all those lines under there. theyre all rusted and waiting to go out again.

Yes, they do make whole line replacements that are pre-bent. But I couldn't find aftermarket--had to go to the dealer.

I was able to replace it, but it was tricky to get the pre-bent line in place.

Hope that helps.

Yes. They will probably have to order it, but they should be able to get it for you.
