AE92 Sunroof failure!

I just got my baby back on the road a month ago today. Shortly after I drove it home I made arrangements to put my springs and new wheels/tires on it. After a hard days work a friend and I got it all done and on the road...

Feels great! So... we are driving down a curvy road enjoying the unusual weather that we are having over here in Oregon when I decide to open the sunroof. I always have a sense of luxury when I reach up and it that small buton to open the sunroof. but this time it stalls and makes a strange "click" sound, So I turned the radio down and attempted to close it. Luckily I gor her shut before "clicking" is all it will do, because that nice weather is gone and the rain would suck to have pouring in my roof!

What could be the reason for this sound? Is it something off track or stripped?

Oh yeah... its a 1988 GTS

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

you junked your car?? man! you could've sold me parts!!

AE92 sunroofs always seem to have that problem, hence the reason I love having none.

Could be a gear, or it could be a bad connection. Its connected/plugged in just inside of the headliner. If you are lucky the connection has come loose. There is always the option to convert it to a manual crank. When you remove your headliner just be careful not to tear it.
