engine mounts.
which tranny are you planning to use?
if you're going to use the sr tranny... custom driveshaft.
lots of custom piping to route intercooler, exhaust, etc. (then again this would be needed with any turbo application anyway)
i bet lots of people in japan have already done it... i heard it's a pretty popular swap.

i'll find out a bit more

i'm guessing a lot..

its all the same stuff.. putting any non-4age engine.. you have to think about how the engine will mount in the bay (custom mountss?) how will the engine mount to the tranny (custom bellhousing?)

or if you use a nissan tranny, how will it mate with the rest of the drive train (custom drive shaft?)

and there will be all kinds of little things to deal with too

i don't know much about that kinda stuff, but it just seems safe to assume that swapping any non-4age engine into an ae86 is going to be a lot of work

a few more off the top of my head...
i'm pretty sure the sr uses a different tach signal... you can either get an aftermarket tach or try to shoehorn the sr tach in, or try to convert the sr's tach signal.
depending on the dependancy of the car's electronics on the ecu... you may have to go to an independent engine management system or try to run the ecu's in parallel somehow.

i'd go with the CA18DETT engine. its a direct drop in and bolts right up with everything ( so i heard) you better check it out still. But theres some guy in cali that did the ca18dett swap, said it was a direct bolt in, and the only thing that had to bechanged were a couple wires on the harness and a different ecu.
if i remember right. the bell housing matched onto the engine!?!?!?!?
well that was quite a while ago. check that out tho
hope it helped...

I remember it was a big topic a while back on club4ag, maybe about a year now. That was when it was tech/fun/auction boards tho. so i don't know what happened to the post.
Post your question on club4ag and see if that guy responds.

Do I hear SR20?

I have one of those under my hood

It's a nice piece I just need to get a JWT ECU so I can get it to rev to 7800

I'm thinking of dropping in a HKS Exhaust and H & R springs later this spring!

I'd love to shoehorn a RB26DETT into a S14
