Gas light always on, Loud knock at first breaks

We've a couple problems with our 2001 Corolla...


-the gas light is always on

-there is an initial *knock* the first time the breaks are used every time we begin to drive it

-the little compartment door underneath the air conditioner is broken. Does anyone know where to find a good deal on it?

-Also, the car got broken into and the driver's side lock is completely removed. Does anyone know where to find a new door handle/lock set for a good deal?


There is also another sound coming from the engine. But I'll find out more about that later.

wrecking yard.... you wont find a better price on most stuff. Some things might be on eBay, but the stuff yopu need probably not..
