brake lights keepin' on

I have a '91 Corolla and the brake lights stay on...There is a small round broken piece on the floor mat...I tried super-glue and it worked. For a day. I have no idea what the piece is called and need to get a replacement part.. Does anyone have any idea of what I am talking about???
Thanks
Nay

that's the brake light switch behind the pedal.. I am unsure of the "official title" but search for that and you might get some luck.. Hope this helps..

Exclamation

Autozone has them cheap, or if you can afford a factory one try to get that one, the autozone one is kinda cheaply made, but works ok.

Replaced the same piece myself. Toyota dealer has it for less than $2.00. Wasted all kinds of time with the generic plug from Autozone, and it didn't work anyway.

Dealer wants about $30.00 for a brake light switch. Advance Auto has them for $9.00.

no no no no no...you don't have to replace the entire switch. Just the little plastic spacer that attaches to the brake pedal lever.
