IMO, I think couple looks better but is easier to rust on the C pillar.

I need opinion on handling

IMO hatch looks better, but the coupe is a bit lighter, but then again the hatch has a rear wiper!

from what i remember from the thread on club4ag, the coupe has a bit more 'twitchy' handling because there's less weight on the rear, whereas the hatch has more predictable traction loss on the rear..

the coupe is a bit lighter and stiffer than the hatch

and you can stick more stuff in the hatch..

but whatever, i personally don't have any preference.. they're both ae86's, that's all I care about!

I like both...no preferance. But if I had to make one, I like the Zenki or earlier AE86's...

I like the hatch Unlike the new so called hatchbacks (which all look like wagons) it has the right amount of slope and not a stubby tail like the current so called hatchbacks.

well maybe that sloping hatch looks better, but it means you can fit sh!t in there!.. I have a vw gti which is more of a 'wagon' type shape, and i can fit all kinds of crap in there.. I can't even fit 2 tires in my ae86 hatch/trunk area without folding down the seats..

The old hatches didn't seem to be able to hold much more then the coupes! Volume wise it probably did but it wasn't much of usable space. I agree the GTi/P5/Matrix all have much better usable space but what differciates a hatch from a wagon?

I'm hoping Mazda comes out with a Protege 5 Mp3  I want the short shift and 17" Enkeis hehe.
