Newbie... 2000 Prizm

Hey everyone,

I'm Griffin Casey; my wife and I just bought a 2000 Prizm. We got a pretty good deal... 62k miles, loaded, 4sp auto, great condition for $4600.

Have a question that a search couldn't directly answer.

The car will be driven by my wife in New Hampshire while she finishes school, meanwhile I am stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. In the car's previous life it was fairly well taken care of, no work records but care is obvious. I will be home for a long weekend in a few weeks and would like to give it a good old tune-up while I'm back home.
Assuming no major work has previously been performed, what would ya'll reccomend and what specifically should I look for.

Thanks and it's good to be on this board. It seems like a place full of knowledgable folks without too many BS'ers and ricers.

Griffin

The list above pretty much covers it all. The exceptions are that your vehicle doesn't have a distributor and rotor, and the engine has a timing chain and not a belt.

Ok, thanks... no surprises except for the undercoat.

Would you care to elaborate such as trouble spots, model year, what exactly to look for.
