fianlly a pic of my ae92gtsr5

it's automatic for now with my 4af. 252000km and counting
big boy tires 205/60/14 oldschool style. not much done to it. Just looks good for its age.

furture projects:
frame swap cuz it's slowing going on mine along with the floor.
Also hopefully a supercharger engine.

Supercharged engine will mean upgrading your suspension too... the SR5 suspension will not handle the 4AGZE like the GTS would... it's setup for more weight.. and I don't mean shocks and springs either.

i'd imagine its not as much work as swapping out a 4ac for a 4ag. still looks like a lot. good luck.

Thanks guys. the whole supension on the car is from GTS. I think now there more gts parts on it then sr5 anyways as for the engine swap it a long way off. i heard it is easier to swap cuz there no ecu in my car and a lot less to remove. but we'll see. The shell that it is gonna be transfer to is a GTS. so By next summer it will be retored back to orginal condition.

Did you say the suspension you have on this car is off a GTS? What do you mean by that!

To REN69
I don't understand the weight part~
Do Celica has this case too? like GTS is able to swap 3SGTE and GT will not able?

To CanadaGTS
did you swap the whole front and rear end from gts to your car??
If you do, that's mean you have 4 wheel disc brake?

I think the SR5 suspension has smaller struts and no sway bars at the front.. while the GTS does have these parts.. therefore handling a bit more weight and power from a motor.

as for the Celica.. I think its the ST that wouldn't take a 3SGTE.. the GT should have the same suspension as the GTS.. doesn't it?? I'm not really a Celica guy.. but I almost bought one.

gts has rear sway and rear discs making for diff rear control arms...the front i'm not sure. but ahmed was saying that the front gts suspension is beefed up...meaning the actual mounting points of the suspension peices are larger...and the suspension pieces themselves are bigger....soo if u have gts suspension, i'm assuming u took out all the control arms and everything? question is, does it bolt onto the sr5 frame or did u havfe to drill new holes??

well for my car there a long story to it. The car will be cut into two the front is my orginal car the sr5 and the back from the windsheild is the gts. So the back is all gts suspension the but i still haven't changed to the disc brake yet. The parts where so badly rusted together i decide to stay with the drums. The sr5 and gts rear supension is the same the strut towers match perfects with all the holes and my sr5 has all the extra places to but all teh gts suspension on it. For the front struts i'm not sure i took it to my garage and they where able to get it to fit with the same holes. the back half will be striped down rust proof inside out and then weld back together with the front . So I'll have a lot fo extra pieces left back when i'm done . the job will be done in winter. So wait till u see it next year i'll have pics as it being done. The pic i post is still the whole car not cut. it under where the problems are. when the new car is made it will have a sunroof which i made need to get if i can't find one here in quebec.

There's no difference whatsoever between the rear suspensions of the SR5 and GTS, infact the rear struts I have on my SR5 are originally made for a GTS..

I couldn't possible see how you can fit the front GTS suspension on an SR5, I tried many different ways with my mechanic and the GTS front shocks are about 2" longer than the SR5's Struts, as I mentioned the GTS fronts are Shocks and you'd have to slide the top and bottom bases onto the shocks which makes it a strut! But the SR5 has a one piece strut..

You would've had to modify your front assembly and mounting points to accept the GTS suspension!

it's not possible to mount drum brakes on the GTS RCA's man....or do u mean ur using GTS struts? if that's the case then it's exactly the same as SR5...and the front suspension of gts is different than sr5..

from what i've heard, u cant just drop in a 4age into an sr5...it's not that simple

Shaun! The next time we meet, remind me to look in your engine bay and see if we even have the same engine mount positions..

I'd really like to take a look at the whole engine setup...
