after installing headers

there is a raspy noise i can cleary hear when I step on the gas. It seems like its coming from the header area, and the best way to describe it, is a raspy noise like my exhaust system is leaking, but i checked all bolts and connections, and its tight!

A header will make that sound. Better flow into a collector will resonate the sound making a raspy sound.

leak wouldn't usually throw a CEL. If it is a leak, my advise is to find the good steel gaskets (looks like a ring of compressed wire), rather than those cardboard looking ring gaskets, i donno why but after my headers those cheap a$$ cardboard looking ones kept falling apart and making new leaks.

i got a nice gasket at pepboys, it looked just like the stock one that came off.

you may be getting rasp from the flex section, mine was getting pretty raspy, i made a ghetto fix by wrapping a peice of aluminum flashing around until i can get it properly fixed with a better flex section...if i ever care enough to do so.

Exclamation

I just used a tin can as flashing (Ghetto) around my pipe flex section. Got rid of the leaky popping sound (that popping exhaust leak sound really really sucked). I cut the tin can into a metal strip wrapped it around put 2 hose clamps. Have a nice new muffler and catlyic converter, with chrome tip, so system is sealed up.
