4th Generation VALVE ADJUSTMENT specs? 1981 COROLLA

I swear I searched but I failed - 1.8 Liter Pushrod Motor - I recall you are supposed to Retorque Head & Motor is to be Hot - I did it about 5 years ago but can't find the specs for Exhaust & Intake gaps & Head Bolt Torque... thanx in advance!

Valve clearances for your 3T-C (hot):

Intake.......0.008 in (0.20mm)
Exhaust.....0.013 in (0.33mm)

Head bolt torque:

62-68 ft-lbs

Valves are adjusted when the engine is at normal operating temperature.


Nothing is really in the manual about retorquing the headbolts. But if you do you do it
when the engine is cold. Then the valves will not be adjusted properly. So you have to check the cold valve adjustment.
