USA '83 Corolla AE72 Coupe

I have a AE72 with 36,195 original miles. I'm gathering that this is a somewhat rare corolla. There is a fair amount of rust but the body is strait and the interior is in very good condition considering its age.

Can you guys help me out in determining a value. I've had a couple of people wanting to buy it and i'm not sure what a reasonable price is.

Thanks

Jake

By way of clarification...

the vin # says AE72 but the stamp in the firewall says AE71. For certain it's two door and has the 1.6l engine.

depends on the condition of your car. sometimes evenif it's somewhat rare and full of rusts you're not gonna get much for it. post pix then we'll be able to see what's the value.

jake... i'd say around $800-1000 at most coz of the low mileage. however if you get the body work done and clean the interior, you'll get a lot more for that car being a 2 dr.

How much more?

Not to keep on pushing the question...

I have the resourses to have everything done profesionally at almost no cost to me. With a clean body, new paint, detailed interior etc. would the value douple or more?

Thank for all your input so far.

to be honest, the price will depend on how the body will be restored. bondo jobs don't cut it with veteran ol'skool folks. bare metal, full prep work and then a nice clean colour can do wonders. change from auto to manual, that'll be better. also this depends on where you live. you almost have to sell this to avid corolla peeps. that's a double edge sword as well coz those guys are pretty cheap like me. how much were you expecting to sell? i can tell you how to get that price.
