2005 corolla motor

Can anyone tell me if a motor out a 2004 Pontiac Vibe will fit into a 2005 Corolla Ce.

Yes it will. Pontiac Vibe and Matrix are the same car with only design differences. Both cars are built on same engine, transmission and platform.

The Corolla and the Matrix are basically the same car. They all have the same engines as the Vibe. Why would you put a 2004 engine into a 2005?

One thing I forgot to mention was that 03 - 04 Corollas/Matrix were all cable driven.

All 05 - 07 Corollas (except the 05/06 Corolla XRS) had drive by wire throttle body.

The is that my wife 05 corolla blew up last week. I work for a towing company and we had 2004 vibe that had been wrecked and the insurance company left it with us. The motor only has 7500 miles on it.

I would think that the car should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty

It should.. unless it was her fault, shouldn't it??

The motor physically is the same, but like silver04rollas said, Toyota changed from cable driven thottle in 04 to the drive-by-wire system in 05. I'd say your best bet is change most of the motor except for the throttle body, use the throttle body from the blown motor as it will have the drive-by-wire system already setup.
