Hi, I have a 95 AE100 2E engine carb (jap spec).
In the exhaust pipe past the header behind the collector can it has something that looks like a silencer. I want to know if it is a silencer or a catalytic convertor. And if removing it how much louder would it be or how much backpressure will I loose ?

If it does, don't remove it. It's called a "FLEX PIPE", this stops your exhaust pipes from breaking when your engine moves back and forth.. it's called a flex pipe because it bends and flexes with engine movement.

yes it has it but thats aint.

Its something bigger kinda more like a silencer but not sure.
It is 5x13" in a round shape, if it helps.

it's either flex pipe or catalytic converter. in anycase, i doubt the car has any resonator before the catatalyic converter

i recently went to my mech friend and it turned out to be just a silencer
