rough morning start ups

i seem to have a problem with morning start ups. when i start up it seems to be bogging and idling like its got some high duration cams in it. it only does this for a few mins till the car gets goin and warmed up. any ideas?? i recently did plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, pcv valve, air filter, cap and rotor and o2 sensor. im wondering if my o2 sensor got fouled out since i was at one time having excessin oil blow by. like i said only for a few minutes then the car seems to be idling steady and no hesitants. this is on a 85 4a-lc carbed nova

did you try cleaning your carb?if not,i would recomend it.i would doubt its o2 sensor,as if their gone,it wont make any difference when it heats up,im sure it would stil run like a pig.

some also suggest the choke. how would i go about adjusting or fixing the choke. is it attached to the carb? im new at car fixing and trying to do it on my own. thats why i like this 4alc engine seems easy to reach just bout everthing on on the motor. would a vaccum leak do this?

check your choke. can't be an o2 because they don't do anything cold. To check it remove the air cleaner top and see if the butterfly plate on the top of the carb is almost closed(after pumping the pedal once with a cold engine). as the engine warms up the choke should open.

Cool

be very careful when adjusting anything on the carb, even if you count turns and write them down, keep a notebook, it is very easy to lose facotry settings, and never get it back correctly. If the car is high mileage, it maybe time to rebuild. if it's a carb, If it's FI then could be time for rebuilding whatever parts where out.
