1999 corolla brake job.. Need some info..

Just got a 1999 corolla and was told I needed new front brakes.. The Stealer wanted $359 for rotors and pads and labor.. I've done pads before on my tacoma but never removed rotors.. How easy of a job is this on my corolla? I have access to air tools.. Do I just remove the caliper bolts and will the rotor fall off?? It cant be that easy... Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

in saying rotors...do you mean the brake discs?...if so,their handy to take apart.instead of loosening the 12mm bolts that are immediately visible when you look at the caliper, remove the two 17mm bolts that actually hold the caliper onto the strut, and the disc should pull off handy enough.if not,a tap of a hammer should persuade it off!

Yes it is that easy.

I've done them on my 2000.

The greatest problem I've had is the rims corroded to the rotor...

Once the wheels are off... no problem. Someone once told me to use a bungy cord or something to hold the caliper out of your way.. but I just balance it on the a arm.

Yeah its pretty much that easy. It would be handy if you could secure your calipers so as they dont pull on the brake lines. A coat hanger works well for holding the calipers out of the way in this instance.
