As far as i know they run a t series diff end very similar to the jdm ae86's. All the people i know who own these have had no problems with the drivetrain with standard or modified motors except for the extra weight compared to your average fwd vesrion.
we have 2 one right hand drive and one left. The Drivetrain is something else. you can only find the same sorta thing on $50 000 SUV's (CAD) oh I guess subies and evo too.

I'd find it very hard to believe they even have a rear LSD.

but im pretty sure the rear diff is a plane jane open diff..
