Noise-Knock In the Rear

Dealer is stumped. I have brought it in twice. The second time they found a loose heat shield. It is still knocking when I change leval of road surface. Up a hill from flat road, down hill to flat road. The right rear suspension needs to be compressed for it to happen. Naturally it never does it for them. Anyone else go thru this. Car is an 06 Corolla LE. I just love this car, regularly get 38-40 mpg with the auto. I know I am being anal, but the knock bothers me. Tom

Besides the problems mentioned by Retiredat44, Toyota in general have had problems with stabilizer bushings, stabilizer link, and upper shock support. These problems usually occur on higher mileage cars. Make sure the dealer documents the problem in writing such as “knock from XX location on rear of car” in case the problem is not fixed until after the warranty expiries.
