How to tell engine size?

I wasn't able to find what I was looking for when I searched but I have a 95' rolla and I don't know whether it is a 1.6L or 1.8L what's the quickest way to tell?

engine size

open up your bonnet and at the back of the engine bay closest to the cabin, their is a compliance plate. this should tell you your engine size... if the compliance plate is not there check the vin but that costs more... also if the compliance plate isnt there its more likely that the car was either stolen or written off

Check the Emissions sticker on the underside of the hood 7A-FE=1.8 4A-FE=1.6

AND / OR

1.8 liter has a aluminum stiffener that bolts to the bottom of the engine and to the transmission leaving a small black oil pan at the very bottom of the engine while the 1.6 has an all steel oil pan
right across the bottom off the engine..

AND / OR

check the source look on the front right of the engine block, (right up against the tranny) about halfway down theres a flatspot that will give ya the real block code (7a / 4a)

Another easy way... 3 spd or 4spd auto?? 3spd = 1.6L, 4spd = 1.8L

If it's a 5spd look at the sticker in the underside of the hood, that usually tells what series you got, 4AFE = 1.6L, 7AFE = 1.8L, 4AGE = 1.6L
