Will I have to get the whole door replace or is there just a door skin that can be changed and painted. How does this usually work when replacing a door. Nothing else of the car was touched

Same thing happened to me and my insurance replaced the whole door (used) it would probably be close to the same price if they had to fill in/weld new metal on the door then paint it..Chances are your window works are shot and there might be damage to the door surround also so just fixing or replacing the door might not be the whole thing that needs to be replaced or repaired...Just to replace the front door molding strip(just a made in China piece of plastic with 3m tape) cost $90 U.S....If your skillful and there isn't any other damage you could pick one up at the bone yard and replace it your self...Chances are you would still have to paint it to match your car, which would be a couple hundred bucks....
Good Luck
