key broke in ignition

yeah, my key broke off in my ignition. it still works normally, but i don't feel very safe because ANY key/screwdriver can turn it. is there an easy way to get it out?

A very small scroll saw blade might thin enough to fit in the igntion and draw it out.
But you probably have to break the end off so the teeth are right at the end and facing back.

how about bypass the locksmith and pick it out yourself with one of those... what are they called... oh, picks. you can get them with all sorts of weird looking ends: curled, 45 degree angle, 90 degree angle, straight piece of metal, etc.

That would be great if he could get into the keyway and pull it. I believe that is the problem he is having at present. Spend the $40-$50 to get it fixed and save yourself the aggravation.

Your local locksmith should have a tool called a key extractor, which by name is meant to extract broken keys
