scan tool help

I have a 95 corolla DX which has an OBD 1 connection...Does anyone know where i can find some software and OBD 1 cable for my car on the net so that i can hook it up to a laptop? I've been searching all over and i can't find anything for a toyota, everything i come across is for domestic cars. Please someone help...

You read the codes from the check engine light. OBD II is what the readers use.

actually, i want to read more than just the codes from the engine light.... You can get more data from the car if you use the OBD 1 connection and software on a laptop. I'm looking for something simillar to the links below but ones that work for a toyota OBD 1 connection.

The cable (for GM cars)

The Software:

So, does anyone know of anything like this for a corolla?

I know what your after, i have just never seen one....or at least a inexpensive consumer product,

I would assume you have a problem thats not making a CEL and you wanna look at the sensor readings to track down the culprit? If this is the case a certain amount can be done with a digital multimeter....

on my trucks you bridge the te1 and e1 terminals in the diagnostic port and the check engine light will flash all stored codes by the amount of blinks and the amount of time in between the blinks. you should be able to get all of the info you need from that.
