Gas mileage 94 w/1.6 + 3spd auto

having a 3 speed transmission really hurts your milage, try driving 60 or 65 and you may be able to get closer to 35mpg

I have a '93 1.6 with a 3 spd. I got 34 once running about 72-73. But I haven't had the car very long. And it is in the midst of getting new rings and valve seals. I'm curious to see what I get then. It was burning oil pretty bad b4 the tear down. I would think it should get a little better.

Synthetics in the engine and tranny should help with both longevity and mpg. I plan on doing it to both. right away for the engine, maybe a couple months away for the tranny. But then my step son might be buying it from us. So I may never know what it gets for mpg after that.
