2001 Corolla, Custom Mandrel-bent 2.5" Magnaflow Exhaust

Here are some pics of a custom 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust that I'm doing on the '01 Corolla that's in the shop. It's still under construction as you can see, but you get the basic picture

The old 2.25 exhaust, which was connected to a TRD Muffler (for sale)...

Okay, here are the completed pics.

Porting the header...before:

After:

Perfect fitment is the first step to a great weld:

Finished exhaust ready to install...

100% done, 3" polished tip at the end.

Yeah I've been thinking the flexpipe over, I don't think that it will crack since the engine doesn't make a lot of torque or have a lot of movement, but when I do the turbo system on it I'm definetely going to put a flexpipe on there.

No, I didn't port match the head.

Looks real good. Those are really decent welds. I mostly just use fluxcore, its strong, but it looks like shit. That system looks smooth, fits nicely and should give it a nice rumble and a noticble power increase id say.

fluxcore mig is horrible, tried it for 15mins and then got a bottle of gas. Coming next spring, tig equipment

Even though the engine doesnt make much torque, a FWD transverse engine still rocks, it will snap somewhere, especially if thats stainless as it expands alot.
I'm very surprised of the lack of undercoating on the floor.

The stock exhaust doesn't have a flexpipe, does it?

what about the down stream O2?
I see you totally hacked it. do you also have other futuer plans and you don't need it
or did you just mess up

but all in all this is nice.
i just got my header and down pipe in the mail.
now i'm waiting till after the holidays to put it on along with
a full exhaust system. I will be making everthing myself also
in my friends shop. he just got this new ridiculous pipe bender
and i can't wait to try it. It's fully electronic.

Heheh no that wasn't me, the guy who made the last exhaust decided that it would be a great idea to WELD the 02 sensor in. So I had to cut it and install a new one.
