Headlights not working

Hey, I'm new to the forum and need help right away.

I have an 86´ Corolla FX and I'm having trouble with the headlights. A few weeks ago I noticed that the headlights weren't turning on when I started the car and switched the lights on. After a few minutes of fiddling with the light switch they turned on. This went on for a few weeks (sometimes it took time, sometimes less time, but they always worked when the car was warm). Now, yesterday I was leaving work and the lights didn't go on no matter what, so I had to drive home with a dark car (scary).


It can't be the fuses or bulbs, right? What could cause this? All other light work fine (tail, turn signals.. I think it might be moisture somewhere causing a short or something, but I have no idea if that is even possible.

could either be the switch in the column or it could be the relay under the hood, those are my sugestions
