USA Front wheel studs

Today I replaced to front wheel studs. I did not remove the hub. I simple tapped the old ones out and placed the new ones in. I used a tighned a lug nut to pull them into place. My main question is I was not able to get them in all the way. Is there a better way to do this without removing the hub. What is the procedure to remove the hub? Thank You!

to remove the hub you have to press apart the front wheel bearings from the spindle, this is done off the car.

use washers as spacers and a more powerful impact gun.

why are you replacing them?

Auto parts stores have a heavy duty thing that resembles a socket which threads on the studs to pull them in place. But I'm surprised the lug nut didn't work. Are you dealing with a lot of rust?
