kinda of a rattleing noise

Hey,
I have a 01 Corolla, and up untill about 6 months ageo or so, i had no problems with the car at all, but latlley I hear these wired noises coming from under the hood... every time I hit the gas, and let go of it between 2 and 3 gear, there like a rattleing noise... its the wiredest thing. It happens manly betwwen 2nd and 3 gear, and only for about a secound or 2 while aim easying OFF the gas. and its worse if i slowy gain speed, rather then just stomping on the gas, but dont get me wrong even stomping on the gas deos it too somtimes.

anyone eles have this kind of problem? or had this kind of problem?

any solutions or anythings?

I already took it to Toyota one time, but of they said nothing was wrong, but aim planing to take it again soon, but wanted to know if anyone had any insight on this problem before I take it in.

Thank in advance.

MP

Sounds like you you have engine pinging. Have you tried switching to a different brand of fuel or going up one grade in the octane rating to say 89? If that doesn't solve it you may need to have the timing checked to see if it is in specs.

manifold?

the inlet manifold gave a small bit of trouble in them cars around that year.is it a kind of a rasp more than an actual rattle?would definitely look into that. When the model was released in ireland, the manifold was covered by toyota warranty.if you only bought it 6 months ago,i would try hittin the garage you bought it in for it to be covered under warranty too.
