you guys realize that Club4ag.com has a reference section, right?
when people say "look on club4ag", that's what they mean, the reference section, not the forums.
but to answer some questions,
1 way means it will lock up only on acceleration
1.5 way means it will lock up on accel, and partially on deceleration
2 way means you can get full lock up both ways
2 way is the most hardcore, trickiest to drive, etc..
1 way is what the OEM LSD is, more suitable for the street
Installing an LSD might get pricey if you only have the diff itself, but if you get one that is already installed into the third member, it;s a much smaller (and subsequently cheaper if you're paying someone) job.
is it worth it? depends what you do with your car. The first time I ever auto-x'd or tracked my ae86, it was quite obvious how much that inside rear was spinning uselessly as I exited corners.
but if you're just going to drive around town and pick up groceries or whatever, then no, it's not worth it.
also, I have to say, if yo're not getting answers on the forums on club4ag, sometimes it IS because that material was already covered in the reference section and people are tired of answering the same questions all the time.. go read the reference section.. it's interesting.. and 90% of the time, a lot more accurate than what some self-proclaimed internet ae86 guru (like me) can tell you.
