Sound Quality System

Does anyone else have a sound quality system installed on their 93-97 Corolla?

Dead Thread

This thread is dead, so perhaps I will post something on a website specifically related to mobile audio.

Yes, same thing. I just posted a description of my install under the thread "describe your sound system" in the audio/video forum. The installation was difficult and I used some composites for mounting the components. Thanks.

Bitter:
SQ = Sound quality
SPL = Sound pressure level

Two different types of chapters in car sound. SQ setups dont get DB ratings of an SPL setup, but SPL will focus mainly on sound pressure (DB), not to quality of sound.

I've sort of got a SQ setup I suppose.

I've got focal access components with a small e-audio 280ab amp powering them.

I've sealed off the doors, and experemented with different tweater placements, they're in the sails at the moment.

I pretty happy with how it sounds, and I'm probably going to leave it as is, don't want to do anything to weigh the car down too much.

How do you like the Focals? I am using the Focal 165KP set. I had the same concerns about weight, but ended up adding about 115 lbs total: 35 lbs. of sound barrier material on the floor and firewall, 26 lbs. of dynamat extreme in trunk and 4 doors, 14 lbs. for the amp, and 40 lbs. for the subwoofer. When I go on longer trips or want full use of the trunk space, the subwoofer is removed. Unfortunately, the Corolla is not a very quiet or fast car. All of this was for a simple setup with just front speakers, a single 270 watt amp, and one 10" subwoofer. With this vehicle I would rather loose the subwoofer all together than the extra soundproofing (most of the music I listen to does not have a lot of material below 70Hz).
