umm it's done. Would have been done 2 days ago but I broke a camshaft bearing bolt on christmas day when nothing is open. Would have been done that day. Only reason it would have taken me 3 days was because I kept taking breaks when I would get irritated with something.

Was fairly easy to do. It went pretty smooth minus breaking that bolt

there was a small piece of the gasket missing between cyliders 2 and 3 which is why they stoppled working

well it comes down to the bolt breaking on a situation that I brought on.

I already had the smaller, needle style, torque wrench but didn't know it read lower than the snap on one I have. So I, thinking I was clever, took the snap on one and saw that it only read to 15 ft/lbs which you need 9 for those bolts... so I cranked it down to the bottom and counted about 10 or 11 and figured hey that'll do... Not realizing for a second that when it's past the 15 it is no longer a torque wrench but rather a very large and expensive socket wrench... So I keep tightening and tightening until SNAP!

Luckily the bolt broke inside the bearing rather than in the head and wasn't in there tight, used my fingers to remove it. I had to wait for the wreckers to open today to get the bolts. Rather irritating when it didn't take me long to do the job until then.

While doing the headgasket I replaced my oil pressure sensor from the sr5 one to the gts one. all I have to do now is wire up the gauges . Will be a nice addition and will make me feel better about driving the car since it will tell me if the oil pressure drops suddenly :|... bye bye idiot light.

I am taking it to a shop to have the muffler installed so they can put the hangers on it and such and maybe have them patch the break int he pipe farther down. I picked out a ricer muffler for 2 reasons, should last longer as it's not thin shitty steel that will rust away in less that a year (just a tad bitter about that) and hey whats wrong with a straight thru? hahaha ... Unfortunately the input is a tad over 2 inches, so I need an adapter until I get the 2" exhaust piping put on the car.

I broke a bolt too. My probelm was that I thought it said foot pounds when it said inch pounds. So I over torqued all ten, I therefore replaced all ten. About a buck a piece from Toyota. If you over torqued any of the others, I would suggest replacing them. They will stretch and can break in the future.

I just finished putting it all back together last night, but it didn't fire. So I need to figure that out now.

check the timing, you may have the belt on wrong?

I only messed up one. broke the first one I tried to put in and then stopped till I found the other type of torque wrench

I was so scared to drive the car, I may know how to do the stuff and be alright at it but I still don't trust myself (gts oil gauge and volt meter installed so I can monitor the oil pressure just incase I did fuck the headgasket up)

I got lucky, I haven't set the timing on it yet, going to take it to a shop so they can do it rather than me buy a timing gun (depending how much they are going to charge. Also picked up plugs, wires and cap, and the rotor to install tomorrow before I take it in. I need them to install a muffler too since I don't have a welder to install the hangers.

lastly thanks for all the help everyone. The car is running better and stronger than before. THing feels damn strong now. Makes me wonder how long I've been driving it with that spot between cylinder 2 and 3 being messed up?

I'd probably have mine done by now, but I came down with the flu or something and have pretty much been a vegetable for the last few days. Still re-couping today, hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow.

I borrowed a timing light from a friend at work (the auto parts stores don't loan those for some strange reason) I'm hoping I'm not off by a tooth or 2 on the belt, but even if I am I think I can minimize the labor by quite a lot if all I need to do is adjust the belt..

they probally dont borrow the timing lights because the lights are very expensive and easy to break.

Even so when I've borrowed other tools from them, they take a deposit which is the price of the tool. I've had over $120.00 worth of deposit at one time for tools. Timing light is only $40.00

timing lights at parts source are 40 - 120 depending if you get the regular one or want a digital one.

Yea I was sick, and still am. figured I might of well got it done asap so I could have the car when I go back to work on the 2nd.

Like I said, would have taken me about a day if I hadn't of taken so many breaks or taken so long to get started in the morning after I woke up lol. I kept putting off starting it because I didn't want to take the time to set it to TDC, lazy and I didn't want to pull the wheel and plastic off the one wheel well. Yeah yeah I'm lazy. Makes me wonder how long an engine swap is going to take me
