hey guys, i was wondering if u cold help me.
my alltrak corolla has started playing up. at low revs one of the cylinders stops working every now and then and will only start 2 run normally again when the engine reaches about 2500-3000 rpm. it is missfiring a bit atm, but my main worry is that in low revs one of the cylinders keeps dropping out. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

how do you know its only cylinder 3, and because you replaced the plugs the other day it very well could be the problem. why is that cylinder cutting out. check the dizzy cap. connector for that cylinders spark plug wire could be corrodered very bad. also did the plug in cylinder 3 have any oil on it? if there was oil try replacing the valve cover gasket and the o rings around the spark plug holes.

Cap, rotor and wires......It happened to me at 110K miles, exactly how you explained. Here in CT, aftermarket cost only 13 dollars less than the original Toyota piece. If you can go with original do it..... trust me it's worth it. I changed out those so called "liftetime wires" 3 times until I was fed up and just purchased the originals. There is a set I read in a magazine that is basically racing wires but costs more. Try eBay, NAPA or Parts America.
hey guys, sorry i didnt reply sooner, i havent really had a chance 2 jump on here. umm i found that the more i drove the car, the less it stuffed up... my guess was a partially blocked injector so we chucked some wynns injector cleaner in and its cleared up heaps... thanks for ur help though... much appreciated.
