Both frames are marked AE86 thus they are the same but you will need to swap a crap load of parts to make the SR5 into a GT-S. They have instructions on a SR5 conversion to GT-S.
Sorry about the above post. (deleted by chris 6/2) My friend didn't log out of my computres again resulting in banishment from future use.

Buy it and spend the summer busting a sweat to get it done. It's not going to be a walk in the park but nothing worth doing is going to be easy. And hey, it beats giving up on your dream.

Its great to strip down the whole car and rebuilding it back to right torque spec.....and at the same time, use brand new screws and all for less future rust....remember to purchase the Toyota repair manual on that car.
from reading the club 4ag FAQ, the SR5 didn't have the extra reinforcement that GTS has. such as spot weld etc etc.
hrmmm well I think I'll pick up the SR5 and just perform the task of stripping "useful" parts off of it for now... but I generally I want to get rid of the SR5 asap as soon as I am done removing everything I need...
Standard should haul off the useless corpse after if I am correct

you can get few money off of the old stuff.... like the brake calipers and master cylinder can be sold to a brake shop.
what my friend did was dumping it in the front when it was at night.....but than again, it was only few parts.....not the whole stuff with out the chassis
interior is black on grey, the rear seats and speaker mounts are already gone
however I do have some kind of makeshift rear strut tower bar, I think it was custom fabricated... although I'll have to do some more research in order to find out
the driverside door is ok but there is a bit of yellow creeping up from the bottom edge of the door but it's not serious
As for the chasis, I'm having my mechanic look at it because hte previous owner drove it into a curb so I am seeing how far the extent of the damage was done to hte suspension/frame/drivetrain
the frame seems straight and I can't find any stress cracks or dmg from the strip down so far~ (the wheels hit the curb not the shell)
