New clutch is in.

Wooha!! got the clutch done!!! it only took those damn guys 4 hours to do it.. but fuk.. they had my car there since tuesday. I think they just kept forgetting about it, cuz I parked it at the back of their lot.

The flywheel got "stone grind" rather than machined. from what the guys said, it leaves a better finish than machining. Man, it's so smooth now too! the pedal is so easy to step on now, and I can actually use the engine power now. can you say time to dyno and compare with the other guys. I ended up paying them $368 after taxes, $275 for the clutch plus he only charged me $45 for the flywheel (he was supposed to charge me $80 but I guess he gave me a discount since they made me wait so long).

I got exhaust in mind after this, maybe a dual tip muffler upgrade and hopefully a custom downpipe. what do you guys think?? unless we can get our header-groupbuy going on with TED Components.

since you live all the way out in the east, ask TED componants about their headers..... b4 you hit the exhaust, check out the down pipe, it has this nasty crimp on it that must be straightenned out.

how does the lightened fly wheel feels like??? any difference on acceleration???? i so like to see the difference! heard that it helps out a lot on the lightened flywheel.

Re: New clutch is in.

What brand of clutch/pressure plate did you get put in?
Was $368 just for parts and machining the flywheel or is that including the installation too?

I think that was labour only, in CDN funds.

$368CDN was labor alone.. the toyota OEM clutch kit I got it at cost last year thru a connection my cousin used to have at a dealership. I saved about $75.00 over retail.

The flywheel was stone grinded (or is it ground? ). I can feel a BIG difference actually, the RPM's go up pretty quick in first gear, and almost the same in second.. as third kicks in you know our cars need more torque.

flywheel is a sweet mod

hey guys, i did my clutch a few weeks back and got the flywheel lightened at the same time. they only took 1/4 of the weight off, 16.5lbs to 12 lbs, but the feeling is great. it's like the engine got more torque in the first three gears.

i doubt that a stone grind is actual lightening. my resurfacing, lightening and balancing was 160CDN.
