I have a 88 toyota corolla sedan in pretty good condition. Its a 4 cylinder stick shift. The car is so light that i can pick the back end up off of the ground by myself. The engine is acting a little funny anyways so i wanted to put in a v6 of some kind, or at least something with more power because the car takes about 30 secs to get to 60 mph. Since the car is so light i was considering racing it. Is there any engine out there that will fit in this car that will give me enough power or at least more than whats in it now? Please help me find that engine!

Thanks

Hey,
If your looking to save as much money as you can while get the best bang for you buck, your best bet is to look at any variation of the 4ag.
Assuming you don't know of these motors i'll explain it for you.
4 a g = 4th generation, "A" block, "G" Twin cam head
That is the basic of all the other variations.
Now the different types of 4ag are as follows
4age bluehat (aka big port)
4age redhat (aka hi comp)
4agze (supercharged)
20v 4age (5 valves per cylinder)
Each engine has its own little quicks and potentials. These engines will fit nicely into your engine bay, with the least amount of work involved.
If you are concerned with racing, you might considering purchasing a GT-S model corolla, as they are a lot cheaper to modify, and will preform a lot better than your current model.
First step, would be researching which engine you like the best, has the most potential in your eyes etc etc.
Read up on the technical information at
http://www.club4ag.com
After finding which engine you like best, post another message and we can continue from there.

This must be Paul Bunyan speaking....

anyways, sounds like the car must be struggling when you are inside of it driving... let me introduce you to the 4A-GZE, the supercharged beast cousin to the engine in your car now. it is a direct drop in. so it fits, wiring is of course another problem altogehter..

again, it has been done, and here are some juicy pics..

go to http://www.club4ag.com for more info, feel free to ask specifics here!
