2003 Corolla Dash Heater Cable

A friend and I took apart his Center Console to install a new cdplayer. In the process of doing this the cable for the Vent control must have come loose. When we tried to put the cable back into a post the control seemed to be jammed it wouldnt turn at all. That knob was on the left. The Hot Cold knob isnt working either. The car just blows cold air in the Face Vent Position. It's late fall here so heat is very important. Does anyone know anything about the back of these controls or have any pictures? Someone I asked thought maybe the cable was upside down we havent tried flipping it yet could this be possible?

I don't know but it could not hurt to flip the cable. Trying could not hurt.

If no one knows, you could always grab a repair manual from the auto store or library. My library has a pretty darn good section with automotive repair manuals!

Fixed

Just turned out that the knob was hard to turn because the cable slipped out of a retaining clip just under the glove box. so when you turn the knob the cable wasnt pulling straight back it was pulling to the left and the tension wasnt where it should have been. Easy to fix!
