uh-ohhhhhhhh.....

To Re&Re, it should be pretty straight forward. I've heard you can get the blue hats for around 400-500 bucks, and labour should be minimal because it's just a simple swap. Check with the guys you're gonna buy your motor from...

You're not alone Andrew...
I pulled my spark plugs last night... spark plugs for Cylinders 1 and 2 are wet with OIL... Looks like bad valve seals, or worse case, bad piston rings.

Well, Andrew, Eric just emailed me with a breakdown on costs for swapping the GZE into his car. It came to a grand total of just under $6000. Mind you, that also included bodywork, buying the SDS, and renting the truck.

I'm doing it myself with SDS and I figure it will run around $4k, including most specialty tools , fuel pump, and hoist rental etc.

If your lucky enough to get a clip, then maybe you can do it for a bit less, since you'll get all the sensors and be able to utilize the factory electronics.

With proper prep, 1 day installation time of the SDS is an added bonus tho, which is all I have time for anyways  If you need it done quick, and you can't afford to be down for a while finding/replacing/debugging OEM japanese electronics, the SDS is the only way to go IMHO.

Neil

Hey Andrew,
My friend Paul might be selling his red hat, he bought it from Lucky Star and it's sitting in a shop since. This might be a chance to pick one up for a good price and do him a a favour by giving it a good home.
Are you going karting? We'll be there tonight.
