I am wondering if the headders for a '93 1.6 will fit on a '92.
I see both on e-bay but the difference in price is quite substantial with the '93 being cheaper, but my car is a '92. Any knowledge on the difference between the exhaust systems of these years?

the 92 and 92 both have the 4afe right? so it should fit? they didn't do any changes in design to the engine did they, so it should still work as long as the 93 header is for a 4afe type engine it should bolt right on.

Update.
I got the '93 header and it bolts up to the head perfectly (4A-FE), but the lower pipe is not long enough and the bend in it is not in the correct location to adequately clear the cross member. I will need to take it to the muffler shop to have all that rectified.
I guess I should have just bought the correct one (more money less headache)

i was afraid of that, getting the midpipe modified or even just having one fabbed shouldnt be too expensive, but its not fun when your parts dont just fit right out of the box.
alternatly, you can just run around with an open header
does it have the same problem that the celicas do? http://www.6gc.net/howto/install_7afe_header
its about 6 inches too short when its bolted to together, or when its bolted together (header and midpipe) is it short AND hitting the cross member?
hell yeah run around with open header for a min while you get that pipe modified. Car gonna sound mean, i remember when i had to run open header until i got a flanged fixed
I agree. Not only that it can burn your exhaust valves.
Straight to the muffler shop Monday morning.

back sucking in cold air, on an extremely hot valve, molecules speed up, then slow down fast, molecular bonds break, thus a crack, chip on a burnt valve, serious performance issues.

hehe yeah i was just playin' don't run open header, may sound all loud and mean, but it fux things up, i only ran for 30mins when i had to run home get the flange and go back to the muffler shop
