USA power problem?

its been snowing alot here in New Mexico and while i was driving slowly throught the snow i had my front heater on full blast and my back defrost on with my gheadlights on for saftey. anywho after that my lights dimmed heater powered down and cd player shut off and the battery light came on. now the batter is about a year and a half old and i know my terminals are loose so im gonna buy new ones tomorrow. But what seems to be the problem just to much stuff going on at the same time? bt the way i drive a 94 corolla 1.6 liter

happened to me...i was going up hill and my cd player cut out then cig lighter and then my lights and the alternator was shot..
