4AGE 20v Turbo?

I seem to remember reading somwhere that its difficult to boost the 4AGE 20v. WOuld that apply to the silvertop, blacktop, or both? What about it is difficult. High compression, tuning ,what?

black top has lighter internals and higher compression ratio, which are great for NA but suck for boost. Silvertop still is high compression. Reasoning not many people do it is prob. b/c of the itb setup. It's kewl when done properly though

However both have been turbo'd at one point or another but yeah the Silvertop is a little better for turbo setups due to some shared internals with the 4AGZE.

Open ITB's For the win! I saw nate's car with open ITBs and it was sweet! it sounded Sexay!

It's possible, with 4agze block(or 20v block), with crank, rods and piston. You also need a 20v head(short list of it need to do this setup, not complete)

With this mod, it's ready to do Pissssh

I've seen this setup on Toyota Quebec, it work very well, but it work better w/o ITB.
He do an custom intake to use 4agze injector.(but he finaly choose 3sgte injector, because he already have it)
He finaly tune his system with a Stand Alone(programable EFI computer)

I show you two link, but it's in french.... If you understand this language it could be a good reference too built your own 4agte 20v

There is a standard ST 20v turbo over here (running an aftermarket ECU) that make 135kw @ the wheels on 5psi. 149 @ 7 psi.

Seems to be holding together well.

Also FYI, the bottom end of the ST 20v is the same as the MAP 4agze (except the pistons)

so, why didn't this guys just use s/c previa injectors??? they're sidefeeds as well..... the only problem with using the itb's on boost is the stock plenum can't hold much more than ~6psi....

or hell, there's 5 million sidefeeds out there on the sr20's......
