Door Opening Problem

The inside door handle of the driver's side door of my 98 corolla stopped opening the door (I have to roll down the window usually to open it). I can reconnect the metal rod that connects to the latch, but there's nothing to hold it in place, and within a few weeks it falls off and I have to do it again. Is there a certain clip or something I'm supposed to buy to keep the door handle connected to the latch? I have no idea what it would be called.

Can I buy a replacement somewhere? What is this clip called? I bought a new handle off ebay, because the original one had broken.

you bought it used off ebay? If its not new, chances are the old owner broke it and decided to put it on ebay... I dont think they sell that part separately.

If it is just an E clip, you should be able to get one in any mom and pop hardware store for less than $0.50. Hopefully its not some kind of rocket science custom clip.
