1989 Rolla SR5 Distributor worn out after 4 years. Time for another. The last one cost was about $250.00. But, since it has a lifetime warranty, so I just bring back my old one for a replacement. It is stuttering bad. This happened a ferw years back, the coil collapses the field at erratic intervals causes a sever drop in spikes while accelrating and driving. Been through this before. First Distributor, from the factory lasted 13 years. Or about 190,000 miles. This lasted about 120,000 miles. Love Lifetime warranties on parts, if I didn't have that I would be screwed.

I was looking to see if I can find spark plug wires, alone, cut them and put the ends on. But the stores stopped selling the wires, and no you have to buyt he damned kits, where the pulg wires come attached tot eh distributor cap. This sux. The old days one could just buy the wire alone. The crap wires in aftermarket kits are horrible crap, no quality at all. My wires are shorting and leaking. The replacement kits are truly shit.
In a couple weeks I will have to buy a new set, what a ripoff racket the aoutmakers have going on these crap kits.

Just Get Your Distributor Replaced. Make Sure It's Replaced With Brand New One Coz U Hv Life-time-warrenty.
For Wires Go To Sams Club, Napa, Wal-mart, Canadian Tire Or Try Other Part Source Coz Oem Denso (made In Japan) Or Bosch (made In Usa) Wires Are Available In After-market.

ALWAYS TRY TO SOLVE RATHER THAN CREATE A NEW ONE!!!
I already put the new Distributor in. The Wires are next. I had thought they were in better shape, but need replaced badly. They leak and crossfire bad. I really would like to buy and cut my own wire and put the ends on, but the cap and wire sets they sell now days don't allow for this. The replacement sets you buy in the stores are cheap ass crap. But, it tlooks like the wires and a crimpng tool are very expensive too. I grew up and learned to make my own sets, before kits were made and put out in stores.
If I could find a good price on ACCEL Plug Wires, that would be nice. But so far even a good price is screwed by people asking to much for shipping.
The cheap ass $50.00 set at PepBoys is crap. That set come with the Cap and Wires fixed into the cap and you cannot remove them without breaking the plastic crap they use to put the wires into the cap.
have you tried www.rockauto.com they have very good quality sets i have a 5% off code too, 557619508652 you copy and paste that code into the "how did you hear abouts us" part of the checkout! good luck

I have seen just raw wires in WAL-MART for $14 to $20 approximately in tail light, auto-mirror section, if you have crimping tool.
thank you,
I willl head over there and check them out soon....
(just hate going shopping.. anywhere.... theres enough illegals at Walmart to repopulate Mexico... (hope some politicially correct mod doesn't freakout,, but it's freaking true..) But their prices are outstanding..
I was looking up a crimping tool, best price I found was about $15.00
