I figured out what that thing to the left is

yup, that thing to the left. The left of the clutch pedal!!!!!!!!!(circled in red)

it's been snowing over here for some time, and this morning when i pressed down the clutch to start the car, my foot was slipping!! the first thing i thought was, "i need to wipe my feet" and so i did! i rubbed that thing next to the clutch pedal with all my might! like so....

I've finally found out what that thing is there for!

just check out the snow, not as bad as years before though

I told you that 6 years ago that it was for removing snow, mud and dog shit...

So.....What's the official name for it besides snow-wiper-offer?

heh heh, when I first learned to drive my Dad said it was called a "dead pedal". Kinda handy on long road trips. Oddly my AE92 sedan also has one but my Camry doesn't. Go figure.

lol its called a foot rest its made to suport your foot you should never let your foot rest on the clutch pedal!
and it also works well to suport your body when needed by pressing aginst it your body becomes more stable and the stiffer your body the better your driving!

if it was made to take off stuff from your feet they would had made 1 for the right foot as well SOME HOW since its the more important foot (brake & gas)

I wouldnt rub off snow from my shoes with that... snow finds its way on the floor mat, melts there, moisture finds its way underneath the mat and sound deadening... result = floor rusting through
