2005 Corolla: How to remove speakers?

I've found many, many guides for getting the radio out of the dash, yet I haven't found a single one for getting the speakers out of this model of Corolla. I just bought the car 5 days ago, and I'm looking to replace the speakers with ones I got for Christmas this year, and I'd prefer not to poke around and break stuff on my shiny new car It's a CE if that matters.

I have an 07 and its all the same, the front ones are easy, u can just pop the door panels off but the rear ones are one huge pain in the but, i have to take that entire back peice of plastic off and undo all these little plastic nuts and it takes a while, good luck, just go pay some place to do it for $25

I just did the back ones myself, and didn't do the front because I didn't see any screws of any kind. Does it just pop off? If so, where should I apply pressure?

ya, it just pops off, there might be a screw or two hidden under some kinda cap or something like that, for sure if u have maunual windows, then there is one in the knob, but it will have lots of tabs that hold it on all the way around, then u just kinda lift up on the panel and it should come off.

How do I remove the manual window handle without breaking it? It doesn't readily pop off like every other piece of plastic with tabs in the car.

There should be a piece of plastic that i take off that covers the handle, then there should be a screw that holds it in.

I don't see any visible method of taking the plastic covering off the handles. I've been looking around online for the last hour (since I posted the last time) and I've found many places that say you need to remove the U-shaped piece inside the handle. I've tried doing that to no avail, and it looks like I might have to get some sort of tool to do it.

I ended up going to Discount Auto Parts and buying a little tool made specifically for removing the U-shaped clip for $3.99. Worked like a charm. Once I got the door off I ended up cutting the speaker out, drilling 4 new holes in the plastic casing on the door and just screwing the new speaker in to the old mount. They work and sound great now, thanks for your help.
