Question 2000 Corolla INSIDE condensation

My wife's 2000 Corolla is getting heavy condensation INSIDE the windows after parking the vehicle overnight.

There is no "sweet" smell so I don't think there is a problem with the heater core.

Carpets and firewall are all dry.

Something is soaking moisture?

Are you sitting inside the car after it is turned off? Is the climate control system not on recalculate but incoming fresh air? Might be the A/C evaporator pan is not draining properly leaving a pool of water underneath it.

Its normal, warm people inside, cold temperatures, when warm air gets cooler it causes condensation, when it has no where to go it will end up inside the car....

Run the airconditioner with the heat on, that will remove the moistute from inside the car, if the evaporator drain tube is not clogged.

Problem Solved

Found the problem- USER ERROR

In this model of Corolla, the AC kicks in whenever the Defrost setting is selected. This is a "feature" that will remove moisture from the incoming air, and speed up the actual defrosting of the windows.

Turns out my wife was in the habit of running the defroster, then switching the fan to OFF. This would trap moisture in the AC evaporator that would later evaporate INSIDE the car, causing the condensation.

Solution is to change the control setting to Heat after the windows have cleared, and running the fan for a period of time to clear any residual moisture out of the system....
