Oil leaking on pedals from behind dash?? help!!!

I have a '90 corolla sedan with about 133k miles on it. On a recent trip to Nashville my noticed there was an oil substance dripping from behind the dash onto the petals and her feet. Initially I thought break fluid but it's motor oil. Can someone please explain to me if there is an oil line running to the gauge cluster? Oil pressure?? What would cause it to leak?? Has anyone else ever experienced this?? How easy of a fix is it??

It only drips when the engine is running and there is oil pressure it seems.

Any help is appreciated.

-Josh

There could have been a mechanical oil pressure gauge in there at some point I guess.

Pull the dash apart and see where it's coming from.

this will sound weird but listen.. its probably transmission fluid coming up the speedometer cable there is some seal on the lower end of the cable that if it goes the trans fluid will creap up the speedo cable. take out the cluster and take a look at the cable..

i replaced the whole cable. i know you can use oil pan liquid gasket. there are two parts of the cable. they screw together. thats where the seal is.
