'01 heater issue

first time poster!! so here it goes

on my '01 celica gts, i get no heat (blows cold) until after driving a while and temp gauge goes way up for a bit. then temp gauge drops back down and heater blows hot air. upon going back to low rpm the blower blows cold air again.

any help appreciated

Hey dude, even though you posted about your Celica in the Corolla forum, we'll help you anyways.

Sound like your thermostat is gone, get that changed and you'll be ok.

Change your thermostat and flush your cooling system.
